Welcome to our 5-Star Reviews
of Eschatology Books.

Updated Jun. 25, 2005

The following books are rated with a 5-star system,
with 5 stars indicating a gem, and 1 star indicating a lemon.

The MahdiCantrell, Ron; Hijacked Messiah: The Mahdi (Jerusalem, Israel, 2004). This is the only book currently sounding the alarm regarding the skyrocketing excitement about the coming of al-Mahdi, the Muslim Messiah. Order this book from the Cantrell’s website: Jerusalem Update. ****

Evans, Mike; The American Prophecies: Ancient Scriptures Reveal Our Nation’s Future (Warner Faith, New York, 2004). A sermon on America’s imperative to support the nation of Israel. Sprinkled with errors, this book contributes very little insight into the eschatological Scriptures. **

Evans, Mike; The Return (Thomas Nelson, Nashville, 1986). Well-intended synopsis of the Bible’s teaching on the End Time, but seriously outdated. **

Otis, George, Jr.; The Last of the Giants: Lifting the Veil on Islam and the End Times (Baker, Grand Rapids, 1991). Though sections of this volume are now dated, it remains a prescient analysis of the role Islam may play in the End Time. This is the only other book besides Ron Cantrell’s that discusses the Mahdi phenomenon in connection with eschatology. ***

Pawson, David; When Jesus Returns (Hodder & Stoughton, London, 1995). Perhaps the most biblically accurate, popular synopsis of the Second Coming of Christ currently on the market. *****
